Unveiling an Unusual Steam Game Trial: Guiding a Poop with the Goal to Reach the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is currently underway, and players have discovered a variety of entertaining indie games. But, one catches the eye for its offbeat concept. Named Unko Technica, this old-school styled jumping adventure includes a character that is literally a piece of poop attempting to make its way to a restroom. In case you're wondering, "Unko" is Japanese for "poop."

How you interact is straightforward: just use a one button to leap. Throughout 150 levels, you'll face tough enemies and visit a market to buy skins for your poop character.

Execute your jumps carefully, since one error forces restarting the level. Jump using bubbles to launch your character higher, cross fragile surfaces, and touch switches to unlock secret routes. Gather UN-KOINS and use them on more difficult levels where things gets crazy.

In terms of design, the demo boasts eye-catching level designs and a killer soundtrack. The retro graphics featuring moving basic polygons may remind fans of classic titles like Earthbound.

Even though hard to recall similar titles where you are a dung character, video games frequently incorporated toilet humor. For instance, in Death Stranding, you can create throwables from character waste. Games like Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved utilize dung as fertilizer. And of course, this theme appears extensively in the South Park RPG The Stick of Truth.

Putting aside its silly idea, Unko Technica has already earned impressive awards, like being named best at a major publisher's indie contest in 2023. A playable preview is accessible at present on Steam, with the full game set to debut on Steam this November.
